Day 4 - Berlin, Germany
Day 4 Berlin, Germany
Saturday 6/11/11:
We visited the House of the Wannsee Conference, which is where high-ranking members of the Nazi party gathered to create the Final Solution. That was when they decided exactly how they were going to get rid of the Jewish population. It’s unfortunate because the property is beautiful. There’s even a huge lake right behind the house.

Some of us in the Wannsee area of Berlin.
After that, we took a walking tour of the Jewish Quarter of Berlin. Then we visited a Dali museum!!

Me and Maria in front of the Berlin Dali Bear.

At some point Maria said, “No hablo German”. Haha. THAT was a continued phrase throughout the trip.
The Dali museum was in the Potsdammer Platz area. While there, we ran into an equal rights rally for refugees. It blocked off the streets and everything.

For our last half of the day we went to a Cultural Festival, Carnival de Cultural. There was a stage with live bands and tons of stands that had food and drinks from all over the world. It was NUTS. There was such an immense amount of people there. It was out of control, and awesome.
Later that night, we had dinner and drinks at Carambar again, but we ate inside this time. Germans really know how to do raspberry beer. While there, our waitress came over to Kelli and asked if she wanted to wrap up the rest of her meal, which was a salad that she didn’t eat. She went, “No, e.coliiiiii….” as she pointed around at the food. Hahaha. It was absolutely hilarious, but I maybe you had to be there.

Us girls at Carambar.
