Day 8- Krakow, Poland

Wednesday 6/15/11

-We saw Oskar Schindler’s Factory. That was pretty cool.

Then, we went to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps. That was an experience. When I got back, people kept asking me if it was upsetting to be there. But, quite honestly, it was more surreal than anything. It’s hard to imagine such a horrible thing actually happening, so actually being there, wouldn’t be any different. (For me).

We had dinner at Ariel, a Jewish restaurant in the home of a rabbi. It’s where Steven Spielberg would go and eat while filming Schindler’s List. There was a cool 3 piece band that played for us while we ate. (Violin, accordion, double bass).
