Days 9 & 10- Prague, Czech Republic
Day 9-Prague, Czech Republic
Thursday 6/16/11
-Took a bus from Krakow, Poland to Prague. We stopped at this castle restaurant for lunch. Once we were in Prague and got settled in our hotel, we took a couple of cabs into a different part of the city to grab some dinner.
Day 10- Prague, Czech Republic
Friday 6/17/11
-We started our day at Prague Castle (the biggest castle in the world). That included Golden lane and St. Vitus Cathedral. Then, we visited the Jewish Quarter and Spanish Synagogue.

Outside of Prague Castle. (I’m the one to the far right with the yellow bag.)

Us in front of St. Vitus Cathedral. We are so small!

Homeboys.

On the castle’s hill.

Hanging around Prague.
After that, a few of us hung around Old Town Square. We shopped around then we watched the Astrological Clock do its thing at the top of the hour. There was a huge crowd of people around us, watching, too. It was built in 1410 which is pretty crazy. There are figures that move around on the hour. There was a boy who was probably about 13 years old who kept looking back and winking at me. Good luck, kid.
Then we went to this Cuban bar called La Bodeguita del Medio for drinks (just the beginning!). It was pretty awesome. There were tons of pictures of celebrities like Edward Norton and Vin Diesel drinking/eating there. The wall behind where we sat was filled with people’s names and signatures, so of course we added ours!

At La Bodeguita del Medio.

The WC! haha. We’re lame. But it’s okay.
After that, we returned back to Old Town Square and had a beer at a Czech festival that was going on. We ended up randomly running into some dude from Boston. That was pretty hilarious.

With our fellow Bostonian.

Then our Bostonian’s friend joined us.
Then we joined in a demonstration/rally from Belarus.

We joined in the rally. This is why they hate Americans.
We had dinner and me and Maria got fried cheese and potatoes. The fried cheese was literally I giant mozzarella stick. Anyone who knows me and Maria would know that is the perfect meal for us. It was great!
Then we went on a booze cruise. YEP. A booze cruise in Prague. I honestly couldn’t imagine a better way to end our trip.

Us with our boy Kendrell after the cruise!

Group shot of us after the cruise. Loving life!
This trip was honestly the greatest thing I have ever done. I absolutely had the best time of my life. It was far too short. I could have stayed there weeks longer. (Or months!) I can’t wait to travel more, there are so many other places I want to experience and I would definitely go back to any of those places I visited in a heartbeat.

Bye bye Europe, until next time!
It was truly amazing. Even looking back on the whole thing now, I feel like such a different person. Today, after reflecting on the last bit of the trip, petty issues and problems seem so silly and unimportant. You may experience bad situations, bad people, etc, in life…but the world is such a huge and amazing place. And if you can ever come to know this feeling and come to this realization, any problems or downfalls you once had suddenly become nonexistent. There are far more beautiful things and people out there. This trip changed me and affected me in so many ways. And, I may have not realized just how much, until right now.
